Scaling plan: when to raise, hold or cut a budget

For each Sales budget, GrowViking learns from its whole history when raising paid off and when it didn't, together with the weather, paydays, holidays, weekdays and their pairs. A plan is picked on the older days and tested on the newer days it never saw; only a plan that beat what was done there is used.

How to do it

  1. 1

Open Ads Insight, choose Meta, then Rules and Scaling plan.

  2. 2

The top card shows what the proven plans would have made on days they never saw, against what was done, and how much was spent in weeks that lost money.

  3. 3

Each budget with a proven plan shows today's call: Raise, Hold, Cut or Wait (Meta settles for a few days after each change).

  4. 4

The line chart adds up profit after ads week by week for the plan and for what was done. The curve shows where more budget stops paying.

  5. 5

Chips show kinds of day that clearly paid more or less for this budget, such as rainy days or paydays.

  6. 6

Press Send to Approvals to suggest today's change. Nothing changes in Meta until you approve it.

These are measured results on your own past days, never promises. A budget needs about 12 weeks of spend before it can get a plan, and plans are tried again every week as history grows.
