Comments on your ads and posts, and your comment rules
Ads → Meta → Comments shows every comment on your Facebook and Instagram ads and your normal posts, sorted the moment it arrives: a question, praise, negative or junk. Your comment rules decide what happens to each one: keep it, flag it for you, answer it, hide it, delete it or block the person.
How to do it
- 1
Open Ads Insight, choose Meta and the Comments tab.
- 2
The tiles on top filter the list in place: all comments, questions waiting for a reply, negative ones, hidden ones and the ones flagged for you. Ads and posts can be shown apart.
- 3
Negative means any bad talk about a product or your company, such as overpriced, poor quality, never arrived, they never answer or don't buy here. Each one says what it is about: product, delivery, price, service or the company.
- 4
The chart shows the negative comments per ad, with its picture and its site. An ad is only called out when it has at least 5 negative comments that are more than a fifth of its comments in a week, so one comment never raises an alarm.
- 5
Each comment shows the picture of the ad or post it sits under, with the ad's campaign and ad set. Press the picture to see the ad big. Its buttons: Reply (a ready reply in the writer's language, or Write with AI), Hide, Show again, Delete, Block person and Never block.
- 6
Your comment rules are under Rules → Comment rules, next to your ad rules. Each rule says When, Where (ads, posts or both; Facebook, Instagram or both) and Then. The ready-made rules hide junk and negative comments under ads, keep and flag negative comments under posts and real order problems, and block a person who writes negative again after a hidden comment.
- 7
Add your own rule with your own words, for example a competitor's name, and switch any rule off. A change works on new comments from then on.
- 8
Hiding is the usual step: the writer and their friends still see the comment, nobody else does. Every step is written to the log and can be undone, except a delete.
- 9
Instagram doesn't let anyone block through Meta, so there GrowViking hides every new comment of a blocked person the moment it arrives.
Comments arrive within seconds once your Meta app is live, and are read again every 15 minutes in case one was missed. To hide, answer or block in Meta, press Continue with Facebook on Meta setup and allow managing comments.
